THE GIGANTEA

A legend…

In the early days, the land of her belly bare a plant, the Gigantea. So was called the magic tree, which roots deep and long cherished the ground and are brought every day a new life. At that time, the worst gusts were still invigorating soufflés and barely emptied gourds filled up. In the meantime, tornadoes don’t ravaging homes, they filled not their mouth of sand, they only carried them in the distance, over the walls, whirling arms and legs. In the meantime, the man had the candid eye and the peace of the heart. In the meantime, at the feet of the tree spouted “blue gold”.

Inspired by “the tree of love and wisdom.
Henri Gougaud, threshold editions

In an imaginary country Makou and his mother live on desert land. Every day they go looking for water to survive.

One day, before the Sun only rises the child meets an army of beings hybrids, (half-man, half-animal).
A tyrant, surrounded by his three wives, greedy for power, captures Makou. Pressed, he joined the struggle for the monopoly of blue gold, and becomes a child-soldier. His life then splits between rituals of survival and suffering. But a dream continues Makou: find her mother and cling to saving branches of the Gigantea. New dawn, under a nourishing rain song, the magic plant asleep too long, finally pushes. Makou regains peace and hope.

This fantastic story offers us a moving and original trip through a creative Alchemy at the crossroads of different arts. Two worlds intersect the animated and the inanimate. Actors, puppets, sets merge into multiple characters. Air Games and dance are part of “writing of the movement”, and to create a theatrical gesture. Music, in turn, rhythm this history, intensifies the action and creates emotions.

Isn’t the theater this art making through fiction, a perpetual dialogue with reality?
